Say goodbye to the 'Cash Only' days!

Many business believe that card machines are an expensive luxury, therefore many businesses still stick with cash only payments.

Businesses who only accept cash are more likely to loose out on customers to other businesses who have more choice in how they allow their customers to pay. Usually this affects small businesses and start-ups, as they think that not having a card reader will save them money. A survey conducted by Clover which consisted of 1000 customers, revealed that 43% of those customers would cancel their purchase at the checkout if the shop only accepted physical cash - and then go onto buying that product from another business who accepts card.

Many people actively avoid shops that they know do not accept cashless payments, this is increasing since the COVID-19 pandemic.

So businesses who may think that only accepting cash to save money on card machine fees, are loosing out on a huge amount of business. These business would benefit from accepting card payments.

As well as the standard, chip-and-pin card readers, contactless is now very popular. According to Clover, 98% of card-wielding customers prefer the contactless payment method because of how quick it is.

So, after all, cash is no longer king. Contactless payments are on the rise.
